Advanced HTPC/NAS Instructions

July 30, 2010

For those of you that liked the HTPC/NAS article earlier, I have put together a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to how I set everything up from the beginning to end. I didn’t include this level of detail in the original post since it might be too much info for some people (either because they know what they’re doing or they don’t plan on doing it).

For those of you that want to dive in and set up the programs I discussed in the previous post, the complete software setup instructions are available HERE.

Enjoy :-)

Awesome news everyone! I have created and released ‘TorrentFlux Remote’ on Cydia (jailbroken app store) to monitor your server! It’s free and available today.

Features include: list of all downloads, ability to see advanced individual stats, start/stop transfers. Also, with a small tweak you can view your download History.

    Potential android app coming eventually.

Sweet! Make sure you also let the people in the torrentflux-ng forum(the new version that they’re working on using the abandoned TF source code) know too! I have actually started moving away from TF lately in favor of a SabNZBD/Sickbeard/Couchpotato setup. You need to have access to a newsgroup service but I’ve found the quality to be higher and the wait to be shorter for the episodes. Also, the post-processing abilities are superior in the way that it creates info for all the episodes. I need to write this up when I have a chance.

I use Sab for movies! I looked into TV but found it very intimidating from first glance. I would love to move tv downloads over to it though! Looking forward to see what you got :)
